REVIVAL OF A.M. TOPOROV’S PEDAGOGICAL IDEAS, SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL HERITAGE IN UKRAINE (1984–2018)

Abstract
A. Toporov’s pedagogical ideas and public education activities constitute a significant part of the achievement of Ukrainian education and culture and are of great importance for the successful reformation of the educational system and school youth upbringing, adult education, and the development of cultural and educational activities. In the revival of pedagogical and educational ideas of A.M. Toporov it is expedient to distinguish two main directions. The first is to popularize pedagogical and educational ideas by publishing and reprinting his pedagogical and journalistic works, highlighting the pedagogical and public-educational activities of A.M. Toporov in publications of scientific and educational character, holding commemorative and other mass events devoted to him. The second direction is the introduction of pedagogical and educational ideas of A.M. Toporov into the practical activities of educational and cultural institutions through their use in teaching language and literature in comprehensive school, in particular, in teaching children reading in elementary school, writing works by observation method, in organization of the system of extracurricular and afterschool activities, at children’s creativity and interests clubs, children’s camps during summer holidays, clubs, Cultural Houses, libraries, museums, etc. Promising is the use of pedagogical ideas and experience of A.M. Toporov in the system of artistic and aesthetic development of children and youth. The methodology of A.M. Toporov’s vowel reading and discussion of fiction can be used in the adult education system. A.M. Toporov’s pedagogical and educational ideas have significant opportunities in children and young people family education, in particular, regarding the revival of the traditions of vowel readings and other forms of active family leisure.
