Abstract
The article describes the basics of the description of hydraulic jumps with the aid of hydrodynamic equations, and also gives the main conditions for their application in the forecast calculations of the lower reaches of the culverts of the medium-pressure reservoir. The results of the numerical study of hydraulic jumping allow us to determine the vertical dimensions of the interface, which facilitates the designation of optimum dimensions for the length of the fastening of the downstream hydrotechnical and hydropower facilities.
