RHETORICAL TRAINING OF THE FUTURE PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS FOR WORK WITH PUPILS IN MOUNTAIN CARPATHIAN REGION

Abstract

Important component of professional competence of future primary school teachers is rhetorical culture. It includes mastery of speech art, ability to speak clearly, meaningfully, expressively, comply with the requirements of general culture and culture of speech communication. Teaching of rhetoric develops a set of personal values of a human: culture of speech, logic thinking, mastery, ability to control behaviour of the audience. Future primary school teacher has to understand the nature of such concepts and phenomena as diction means of Ukrainian language euphony, culture of speech. The teacher has to work constantly on improving the elocution and correction of speech errors which were caused by dialect environment. In the students’ speech of the Pedagogical Faculty of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University we detected certain variations in the pronunciation of vowel sounds, mostly caused by the influence of local dialect language; speech errors were present in the pronunciation of consonants as well. It can be explained by a significant influence on the speakers by south-western adverb and local dialect language. Many violations were in the area of emphasizing words. Violations of stress are often influenced by south-western dialects. Thus, it is necessary to work on correcting the deviations from the literary norm, learn the local dialect deeply, and use vernacularisms in speech creatively.
