Journal Title: Medycyna Ogólna i Nauki o Zdrowiu - Year 2012, Vol 18, Issue 4
Abstract
Introduction and objective of the study: Disorders of statics of the reproductive organ are a common health problem among women. The objective of the study was evaluation of the risk of occurrence of disorders of statics of the reproductive organ among women.Materials and methods: The study covered 120 women living in the Lublin Region, conducted with the use of a self-designed questionnaire specially designed for the purpose of the presented study. Participation in examinations was voluntary and anonymous. The results obtained were subjected to statistical analysis. The p values p<0.05 were considered statistically significant. Results: In considering the factors which are conducive to the occurrence of disorders of statics of the reproductive organ among the women examined it was found that 27.50% of respondents were in the group at low risk of statics disorders. 49.17% were in the group at average risk; however, 23.33% came within the group at high risk. Own examinations showed a statistically significant relationship (p <0.05) between the risk of disorders of statics of the reproductive organ among the women in the study, and place of residence, education level, and time of the last visit to a gynaecologist. Conclusions: Women living in the rural areas with an elementary or elementary vocational education are at a higher risk of disorders of statics of the reproductive organ than those living in the urban areas and possessing university education. All actions aimed at changing the awareness of women in relation to the need for regular visits to the gynaecologist may contribute to an early diagnosis, and reduction in the intensity or frequency of the occurrence of disorders of statics of the reproductive organ. It is necessary to undertake actions within the scope of education and health promotion with respect to rural women with elementary or elementary vocational education, concerning the risk factors predisposing to disorders of the statics of the reproductive organ.Key words: disorders, statics, reproductive organ, risk of occurrence
