Risk Perception: Students’ Attitudes

Abstract
This article presents a theoretical conceptualization of risk phenomenon and the results of pilot research on student’s attitudes to risk. Research data was collected by semi-structured interview method and processed by content analysis principles. The target group of pilot research was students. The research findings revealed that students differently define the concept of risk and also different risks associations attributed to different cultural contexts. Risk associations to different cultures in many cases are determined by a priori knowledge and the other cultures estimation in public discourse therefore this raises doubts about the possibility of objective risk perception. Although risk mostly is estimating by objective evidence also is very important constructive part of this phenomenon and the ability of individuals to give different meanings to different risks.
