ROLE OF SHIGRU (Moringa oliefera) PATRA SWARAS TO PREVENT THE POST-OPERATIVE WOUND INFECTION

Abstract
The main purpose to treat the post-operative wound is to prevent it from infection. For this we prescribe antibiotic.No doubt these antibiotics are timely proven but antibiotics are costly, have side effect also,sometimes severe allergic reaction may occur. Therefore, it is an intention to find out alternative cheap easily available herbal medicine to prevent the post-operative wound infection with minimum side effect.In ayurvedic text Shigru is mentioned as Vranaghna,(help in quick wound healing) vranadoshnut(help in healing of c) & sadyavraneshu(help in traumatic wound healing). Study was conducted on 100 patients of post operated cases of miner surgeries. 50 patients have given Shigrupatraswaras &50 patients have given antibiotic, follow up was taken. So far 50 patients treated with Shigrupatraswaras(juice) have shown equally significant result when compared to patients treated with antibiotics.
