Abstract
The History Museum in Sibiu holds, as far as we know, the greatest collection of Romanian- American cockade rosettes, maybe unique,(gathered in the collection under the inventory number 2140) and they entered in the patrimony by transference from The Astra Museum. The belongings of the societies arrive in the country through the participation of the members of the societies to different national events. They brought with them the picture (a photo) with members of The Society Ulpia Traiana, that is to be found in the collection of The Documentary Prints of the Museum, the flag of The Society Fratia Româna, 80 Romanian-American cockades rosettes and 2 cockades rosettes belonging to the Saxon ethnics that were organized in societies, too. Being old over 100 years the cockades rosettes have documentary signification, expresses the national feeling and the solidarity of the Romanian communities and other nationalities of immigrants in the U. S.A., before 1918, with the fight for the social and national emancipation in the Austrian-Hungarian Empire.
