Rozwój polityki transportowej UE dla miast

Abstract
The aim of the article is to present the assumptions of the development of public transport in the European Union transport policy and the role of the European institutions in their implementation. The article presents the idea of sustainable development as a contemporary paradigm of the transport system functioning. The most important documents and programs outlining the directions of European transport policy, highlighting the importance of public transport for sustainable urban development, are discussed. In addition, the latest European Commission documents pointing out the actions for qualitative changes in urban transport are presented.
