Abstract

The employment and unemployment issues have a long living history. The regulation of labor market through various institutional mechanisms is recognized today as a most effective way for overcoming of labor market problems. Given article investigates labor market institutions and distinguishes its structural elements like labor market formal institutions and labor market informal institutions and their structure. Labor market informal institutions are represented as a system of norms, traditions, informal agreements and contracts, informal corporate interpersonal relationships etc., that are very important for ensuring trust between people that creates and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation and defines specific rules of behavior within certain social networks and groups. Labor market formal institutions are represented by a system of formal, legally defined and regulated normative and legal acts acting as regulators of the processes taking place in the labor market and oblige the participants of labor relations to fulfill them. If labor market informal institutions operate at the microeconomic level, labor market formal institutions function both at the microeconomic and macroeconomic levels. Formalized forms of labor market institutions are run by institution-organizations such as government, ILO, companies (organization, corporation) and households, trade unions, work collectives, employers' association, and etc. Institution-organizations are the main elements of the institutional environment of society and the main participants of labor market social and labor relations. Institution- organizations perform many functions, one of which is the promotion of employment. Interaction between formalized forms of labor market institutions is carried out through the functioning of institutes-mechanisms, such as labor legislation, labor contracts, labor agreements, social partnership, ethical-moral rules and norms, etc.
