SALARIES AS ONE OF THE MEANS OF SOCIAL PROTECTION OF THE EMPLOYEE

Abstract
The author carried out a scientific study of the legislative provisions, which establish the procedure for determining the amount of wages of the employee. One of the drawbacks is double standards in the field of remuneration, namely: «living wage for able-bodied citizens» and «minimum wage», which is a hidden form of avoiding an employer to provide a wage level equivalent to the worker’s efforts spent. It is proposed to consolidate the employer’s duty to provide an actual payment, instead of paying the employee salary in the amount not lower than the minimum. A number of weaknesses in the indexation of wages are identified, which can be eliminated by a legal prohibition to refuse indexation because of the lack of sufficient material resources for this.
