Satisfaction Analysis of University Students' Economic and Social Relationships with the City: The Sivas Cumhuriyet University Sample

Abstract
This study aims to analyse university students' relationships with the city where they study in economic and social aspects. As is known, the number of universities in Turkey has been increasing rapidly. There is no city in our country without at least one university. Especially, for small and medium-sized cities universities have great importance in economic, social and cultural areas. Accordingly, a survey was performed on students of Cumhuriyet University. This survey was performed by means of conducting questionnaire sheets on 630 students. In the light of the data gathered, it is aimed to find out the reasons of satisfaction and dissatisfaction cases of the students. It is targeted to determine present problem areas in contexts like direction and contents of student and city relationship. It is revealed that the size of the stated problems have an effect upon students’ choice of university.
