Journal Title: Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal - Year 2024, Vol 22, Issue 9
Abstract
The study is on the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) and its influence on pupils' physical and behavioral development in Midsayap. K to 3. It utilized a descriptive correlational research design utilizing a researcher-made questionnaire. The study reveals a predominantly female demographic among respondents, highlighting gender disparities in elementary education. Participants strongly supported the effectiveness of food delivery methods, emphasizing sealed packaging for cleanliness and safety. Positive perceptions of food quality were observed, ensuring adherence to safety standards. Additionally, the study discovers a direct association between the program's extent and physical and behavioral development, indicating its positive impact. The study also provides significant insights for policymakers and practitioners regarding SBFP, stressing the importance of addressing logistical challenges and maintaining high food quality and safety standards to optimize developmental benefits for recipients. With these findings, these recommendations are highly stressed such that educational institutions should implement gender equity initiatives to address the observed gender disparity within the teaching profession, fostering a more inclusive and diverse workforce and for the program administrators to optimize logistical arrangements for food delivery in School-Based Feeding Programs (SBFPs) to minimize distance to distribution points and ensure timely and reliable food delivery to beneficiaries.
