SCIENTIFIC AND METHODICAL APPROACHES TO BALANCING THE INDICATORS OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF MULTIMODAL FREIGHT TRANSPORTATION IN INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

Abstract
In this article the problems of sustainable development of multimodal freight transportations in the continuation of the logistics supply chain are considered and scientific and methodological ap-proaches to minimize them are proposed. The conceptual bases of sustainable development of multimodal transportations, which are based on the responsibility of a single transport document when cargo is transported by several types of transport have been considered, and the ways of their improvement have been recom-mended. It is substantiated that multimodal transport provides a certain complex of transport ser-vices in the delivery of goods in international traffic, which reduces the time of transportation and is characterized by the expected benefits for producers and consumers – the participants of the transportation – as the result of time saving. The article proposes a scientific and methodical approach to determining the efficiency of multimodal transport in comparison with unimodal. It has been proved that the efficiency of organization of multimodal transportations meets in full the needs of consumers in the complex, high-quality delivery of cargo throughout the logistics chain and allows to optimize time and financial costs. The basis of sustainable development of multimodal traffic is a partner-competitive model that takes into account the balance of partnerships and competitive relationships throughout the logistics chain. This combination of all parts of the logistics chain and competitive relations is at the core of the formation of the synergistic effect of multimodal transport.
