Scientific research on the effectiveness of including spirituality or religiosity in psychotherapy
Journal Title: Psychoterapia - Year 2014, Vol 169, Issue 2
Abstract
Spirituality and religiosity appeared in psychotherapy in the 1980’s and 1990’s of the twentieth century. Since then, the number of studies on the effectiveness of including them in psychotherapy has significantly increased. Scientific research shows that psychotherapy which takes into account the patient’s spirituality or religiosity is just as effective as other forms of psychotherapy, and in some cases even more effective, especially in the treatment of religious individuals and in the treatment of depression
