SCIENTIFIC VIEW OF THE DRAFT LAW OF UKRAINE “ABOUT THE SUPREME ANTICORRUPTION COURT”

Abstract
On March 1, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the first reading the draft Law of Ukraine “On the Supreme Anticorruption Court”, the register. No. 7440 dated 22.12.2017, which was submitted for consideration by the President of Ukraine. Given the particular relevance of this issue, which does not require further confirmation, we consider it necessary to express our views on the issue. To this end, the provisions of the draft law were analyzed for their compliance with the recommendations of the European Commission on Democracy through Law (Venice Commission), as stated in Opinion No. 896/2017 of October 9, 2017 (CDL-AD (2017) 020), as well as the requirements of the current Law on the Judiciary and Status of Judges.
