Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the scale of the shadow economy in Ukraine, the countries of the European Union and other foreign countries. The structure and causes of the growth of the shadow economy in the countries of the European Union are analyzed. The analysis of the main causes of the occurrence and development of this phenomenon in the world and, in particular, in Ukraine is carried out.
