Scoring of chromosomal aberration among a human population in the suburbans of chennai exposed to environmental pollutants

Abstract
The study aimed at investigating the chromosomal aberration of human populations residing in and around the industrial region of Thiruvallour and Chennai Districts of Tamil Nadu exposed to environmental pollutants. Chromosomal aberrations in peripheral lymphocytes shown to be very sensitive biomarkers of genotoxic effects. The highly polluted regions (HPR)-Manali and Ennore showed statically increased significant in the mean frequency of aberrant cell than moderately polluted regions (MPR) Kathivakkam and Thiruvottiyur and less polluted regions (LPR) Ponneri and Gummidipoondi
