The second vision problem in the writer's work comprehends and connects with a dreamy realness penetrating into reality (the story "A Terrible Vengeance?. It is asserted that N. V. Gogol's aesthetic problems are associated with the mystical vision of the world (the story "The Portrait?. Gogol's visions are manifested through a sleep and affirmed in the reality. The images of sleep and the images of reality often merge by the writer into a single whole. Day forms of consciousness are destroyed in a dream, because sleep is an impulse to genuine action and connects with the life, which grasps dreams. In this case, in N. V.
