Short communication on calibration graphs in analytical chemistry: How they work.
Journal Title: Advances in Environmental Sciences - International Journal of the Bioflux Society - Year 2010, Vol 2, Issue 2
Abstract
Calibration graphs are a very familiar device routinely used by analytical chemists in their daily work. It may seem silly to ask how they work. This short communication will demonstrate that they are a lot more complex than they appear to be on the surface. Every aspect of the calibration graph is explored in detail.

Structural research in the natural beech forest, situated at the eastern limit (Humosu Old Growth Beech Forest, Iași county, Romania).
The paper points out the stability of the natural forest due to its structural complexity, reached through milennia of evolution. The „Humosu Old Growth Beech Forest” situated between 450-500m altitude in the Moldavian P...
Solar photocatalitic degradation of Vat Yellow 4 dye in aqueous suspension of TiO[sub]2[/sub] - optimization of operational parameters.
The photocatalytic decolourisation and degradation of an anthraquinone dye Vat Yellow 4 in aqueous solution with TiO[sub]2[/sub]-P25 (Degussa) as photocatalyst in slurry form has been investigated under solar irradiation...
Using maximum entropy to predict the distribution of a critically endangered reptile species (Eryx jaculus, Reptilia: Boidae) at its Northern range limit
The sand boa ([i]Eryx jaculus[/i]) is one of the least known and rarest reptile species in Europe. In Romania, the sand boa is the rarest reptile species with only four locality records being known; at Cernavodă, Cărpini...
Aesthetical principles in degraded landscape rehabilitation.
Human influenced or naturally degraded landscapes rehabilitation requires reliable scientific solutions, for their agricultural and silvicultural development as well as for their reintegration in the productive and/or ec...
Influence of short- and long-term exposition to Roundup on the spontaneous and hormonally stimulated LH secretion and gills condition in Prussian carp (Carassius gibelio)
Roundup is the most extensively used herbicide in world agriculture. In the present study we examined the influence of Roundup at the concentration of 15 mg L-1on luteinizing hormone (LH) secretion and reproduction of Pr...
