Simulation of Projectile Motion around Muzzle
Journal Title: Problemy Mechatroniki. Uzbrojenie, lotnictwo, inżynieria bezpieczeństwa - Year 2013, Vol 4, Issue 3
Abstract
In the paper results of simulation of motion of a projectile and gases in the barrel and at the outlet of the barrel have been presented. Numerical calculations were performed in the ANSYS Fluent 12.1 for 30 mm caliber gun and TP-T projectile moving in it. Changes of projectile velocity and changes of pressure and gas velocity inside and outside of the barrel were calculated. The simulation has proven that the velocity increase during the intermediate ballistics period can be considerable.
