Simultaneous active vibration control and health monitoring of structures. Experimental results
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2010, Vol 2, Issue 2
Abstract
The paper reports some results of a research project having as object the development of a structural health monitoring strategy in which the monitoring process is doubled by an active vibration control process, hereby resulting a longer operation time of the structure. Hardware and controller issues of impedance-based structural health monitoring and active control, both based on piezoelectric sensors-actuators, are summarized.

Aerodynamic Interference between Oscillating Lifting Surfaces and Fuselage. Part 1: Oscillating Lifting Surfaces
This is the first of a series of articles that deal with the calculation of the aerodynamic unsteady forces on lifting surfaces (wing, empennages) in the presence of the fuselage. The aim of this work is multiple: the ca...
Selected aspects of the supply chain management in the aerospace industry
The paper in the introductory part underlines some factors concerning the aerospace supply chain management (SCM) issue. Authors inform on selected definitions in this topic, levels of supply chain and its maturity. The...
An Embedded Boundary Algorithm for Large Eddy Simulations in Complex Geometries
The paper presents a novel implementation of the embedded boundary algorithm in a Large Eddy Simulation CFD algorithm. The embedded boundary method aims at allowing the simulation of complex geometry flows on Cartesian c...
The Origin of Shear Turbulence
Previously, the turbulent flows were studied as they have been disregarding their origin, and without looking into some of the details of the mechanism of turbulence production and sustainment. This approach focusing its...
