Journal Title: The Journal of International Social Research - Year 2017, Vol 10, Issue 51

Abstract

Communication is a phenomenon that exists with humanity. Firing fire, using various animals, making voices, drawing pictures, and then gradually moving to alphabet with hieroglyphs has become a primitive, sprawling step in the process of human communication. With evolving technology, people have begun to express themselves in various media, such as newspapers, magazines, and radio, which are constantly changing. Internet technology, which collects all the features of mass media under one roof, has a great importance in every sense in terms of humanity. Opportunities that the Internet has given to the target audience in terms of participation have a huge role in shaping today's societies. People are now better able to express themselves through all the "alternative" media provided by various internet technologies under the hands of journalists, radio and television. This reality is quite controversial in today's "alternative media". How well do people express themselves freely, using the technological facilities under their hands? In the study, alternative media under the frame of mainstream and critical approaches were examined through Bianet example and Bianet's publishing was interpreted and analyzed in terms of ethics and visuals by the method of discourse analysis. Method of study, discourse analysis was done. On January 1, 2015, news in Bianet was searched by discourse analysis to collect data on how free the media in the alternative media is. The research was limited to Bianet as a web site for more Professional writers than other sites in the social media. Since it is not possible to transmit all of the news on the site, the work has been framed by the news on 01.01.2015.
