Social responsibility of a university in Poland

Abstract
The strategic objective for higher education in Poland is to improve the quality of the three main areas of higher education: education, research and university relations with social and economic environment. The concept of social responsibility of universities has been using due to increasing role of universities in teaching and research activities as well as cooperation with social and economic environment. Increasing pressure and expectations from stakeholders in relation to the operation and development of higher education in Poland can be an important incentive for the university to make more in the area of its socialresponsibility.The aim of the article is to present the idea of social responsibility of higher education, which was analyzed in the relation to key functions performed by higher education in Poland.
