Journal Title: The Journal of International Social Research - Year 2015, Vol 8, Issue 38
Abstract
The aim of this research is to examine the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Socio-Contextual Teacher Burnout Inventory (Pietarinen, Pyhältö, Soini & Salmela-Aro, 2013). Participants were 137 teacher, 75 were female and 62 were male. The goodness of fit index values of the uni-dimensional model were: x²= 38.88, df= 25, RMSEA= .064, IFI= .95, CFI= .95, GFI= .94, SRMR= .056. The internal consistency coefficient of the scale was .79. The corrected item-total correlations of Socio-Contextual Teacher Burnout Inventory’s Turkish Form ranged from .36 to .63. Overall findings demonstrated that this scale had high validity and reliability scores and that it may be used as a valid and reliable instrument in order to socio-contextual teacher burnout.
