SOCIO ECONOMIC DETERMINANTS OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION: AN ANALYSIS ON AFRICAN COUNTRIES

Journal Title: ULUSLARARASI AFRO-AVRASYA ARAŞTIRMALARI DERGİSİ - Year 2017, Vol 2, Issue 4

Abstract

Energy consumption is a matter of particular importance for countries with high external dependence on energy consumption. The aim of the study is to estimate the socio-economic factors that determine energy consumption in African countries. Panel data analysis performed using Eviews and State programs showed that the percentage of population that reached only electricity on energy consumption was statistically significant. This result is interpreted as the fact that African countries are still in the process of establishing the infrastructure of economic development
