SOCIOCULTURAL TRANSFORMATIONS OF THE MODERN AND POSTMODERN

Abstract
The processes of transformations in the European social, cultural and artistic space, their mutual influence, and their consequences are studied. The focus is on popularizing the concepts of egalitarianism, dividing the scope of art into two - high and low and, accordingly, high aristocratic and low folk culture. The process that took place in the aesthetic realm was closely linked to the changes that took place in politics, influenced the replacement of the imperious monarchical model of governance with a democratic one. Cultural transformations of the modern time are caused by the spread of the idea of equality, the popularization of communist ideology and the emergence of it as a value of modern culture. The sphere of art, being the most receptive among all spheres to axiological changes in the social palette, has reacted with internal changes in the aesthetic sphere. In the postmodern world, the axiological system is transformed under the influence of processes of globalization, virtualization, and fragmentation of life.
