СОЦІОЛІНГВІСТИЧНА КОМПЕТЕНЦІЯ У НАВЧАННІ МОВИ

Abstract
The article highlights the peculiarities of the sociolinguistic competence in teaching foreign languages. Sociolinguistic competence is concerned with the knowledge and skills required to deal with the social dimension of language use, i.e. linguistic markers of social relations, speech acts, politeness conventions, register differences, dialect variations, idiomatic expressions. The teacher’s task is to explain the student the differences among groups of speakers of the language which is being learned and social significance of these differences.
