SOME ASPECTS OF THE ACTUAL USE OF ALCOHOL DETECTION DEVICES BY THE EMPLOYEES OF THE NATIONAL POLICE OF UKRAINE

Abstract
The article is devoted to the research of the particularities of the technical and criminalistics support for the National Ukrainian Police activity to identify the drivers’ signs of alcohol intoxication. It is specified the legal basis of the patrol police to find out the condition of intoxication of drivers, and application of special technical devices to find out the fact of intoxication. Official statistics of committed traffic accident while intoxicated amount is given in the article for the last three years with a half. The list of the special technical equipment’s that is used for realization of inspection by both overseas and home production is highlighted, that is registered and permitted for using by Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The comparative analysis of Breathalyzers that allowed to the usage in Ukraine is conducted, their differences and classification are marked. The most common methods for determining the alcohol concentration in the human body by using Breathalyzers are given. It is determined and proved which Breathalyzers are most precision in their properties. The principle of Breathalyzers work for measuring the concentration of alcohol vapor in the air is also highlighted. According to the results of the studies undertaken it is exposed the totality of the problems that the policeman can face during the examination of the drivers to establish the state of alcohol intoxication. It is exposed the author’s proposals and recommendations concerning the improvement of the technical and criminalistics support for the traffic police employees to improve the fact-finding of the alcohol intoxication in the field.
