Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic, which is having a major impact in 2020 and going on to exist, greatly affects individuals, families, groups and communities. The effects of the pandemic is observed in in various fields such as health, economy, education, social life and human psychology. It is important to observe and intervene to the effects of the pandemic, which is a biological disaster, and the new problems it may cause. Defense mechanisms, which are insufficient in the face of problems that individuals have difficulty in coping, may lead to crisis. Defense mechanisms, which are insufficient in the face of problems that individuals have difficulty in coping with, may cause a crisis because of the effects of the pandemic contain a continuous health threat and process of the outbreak is long. It is necessary to be prepared for timely response in times of crisis. The pandemic period should be handled as a crisis. During the crisis, it is important to mitigate the effects of the current situation, to take measures against new problems that may arise and to implement the practices on time. In this crisis period, which affects the individual in many ways, the importance of interventions for disadvantaged groups also increases. Covid-19 pandemic creates a social impact and specific situations that may arise for segments of society should be evaluated. In this study, a crisis intervention approach towards societies facing a disruptive event is discussed with a social work perspective.
