Based on relevant media reports from Hong Kong and Macao SAR, the article discusses the source composition and social characteristics of the middle class in Hong Kong and Macao and analyzes the current interests of the middle class in Hong Kong and Macao and the essence of its social movement. At present, the middle class in Hong Kong and Macao has multiple interests appeals, and its social movements highlight the social tension of local society's differentiation and integration. Responding to these diversified interests and social movements requires the central government, the Hong Kong and Macao SAR governments to take advantage of the situation and integrate the demands of the middle class of Hong Kong and Macao into the regional synergy and innovation development of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao and the Pan-Pearl River Delta region. Promote the orderly development of local political reform and social harmony with the steady development of the economy.
