Spatial code in the semantics of the Russian phytonyms

Abstract
In the article the semantics of Russian phytonyms is considered from the point of lingua-culturological direction in linguistics. As a result of the study, six main ways of representing the locative code in the semantics of the Russian phytonyms were identified. The conclusion is drawn that the Spatial (local) code represents the basic characteristic of the denotation of phytonyms in the language picture of the world of Russian native speakers. It is explicated through the direction of the side of the world, part of the world, the specification of the country or region (the most frequent are the Crimea, the Caucasus and Siberia), the province or the city. Significant are the characteristics associated with the water space of the denotation.
