SPECIAL ASPECTS OF INTERNATIONAL LEGAL UNIFICATION OF MARITIME LIEN AND VESSEL MORTGAGE RULES

Abstract
Being international in nature, institutes of Maritime Liens and Mortgages always required legislative unification. The unification on the level of international agreements became a common phenomenon. These institutes of law were en- shrined in such international documents as the International Convention “On the Unification of Certain Rules of Law Re- lating to Maritime Liens and Mortgages” dd. April 10, 1926, and the Convention of the same name dd. May 27, 1967, the 1993’s Geneva Convention “On maritime liens and mortgages”.
