SPECIALIZED CONTROLLER TO DC MOTORS SET FOR TRIBOTESTERS

Abstract

A motor controller that allows for concurrent operation of many electric motors is described in the article. The motor controller is characterized by working in a dual feedback loop. It allows one to stabilize the engine speed and/or maintain a constant, predetermined distance from the test object or obstacle. This controller provides high quality control, with long, troublefree operation while maintaining the safety of both people and controlled objects. Further work will be carried out towards the optimization of the control algorithms in order to reduce the number of lines of communication between controllers. The presented controller can also be used in drives of battery-powered electric vehicles, appliances controlled by DC motors, and machines and devices with DC motors with extended demands on energy supply and the dynamics of movement. The controller can also be used to build tribological test apparatus, which is designed and manufactured in ITeE – PIB. There is an alternative solution in tribological testers in which asynchronous AC motors and control inverter (T-01, T-05, T-10, T-11, T-15, and T-20) are currently used. It can also be used to automate the setup load on test rigs.
