Specifi city of Cooperative Management System

Abstract
Investigations showed that total participation is a distinctive feature of the cooperative system of management. The idea of participation is manifested itself in democratic conducting cooperatives by elected bodies; in appointment and also dismissing members of board; internal cooperation proceedings; freedom in enacting statute by cooperative members. In Poland dominated traditional way of managing cooperative affairs in which executive body has collective character and is elected by supervisory board. That traditional way is popular particularly in rural areas. In managing rural cooperatives great significance is still attached to tradition and a specific self-governmental symbolism. Based on provided research a conclusion is made that precondition of cooperative economy upturn is improving competencies of members of cooperative bodies. Research results showed that cooperative chairmen and chairwomen possessed practical knowledge of steering a cooperative as they on average held managerial position for 11 years. That also proved stabilisation of managerial staff . The surveyed managers discerned a need of getting and improving knowledge of management and marketing, and also of market economy.
