Abstract
Translation decisions concerning the usage of specific linguistic means in the texts of modern artistic translations are outlined in the article. Linguistic discoveries expanding the expressiveness of the Ukrainian language are found and intensify the expressive and evaluative potential of the vocabulary. The functional completeness of such original names is characterized. The parallel usage of Ukrainian and borrowed words-competitors is considered. The peculiarities of selection of stylistically marked lexemes in the background of the active participation of foreign-language elements are analyzed.
