SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF TRACE AMOUNTS OF VANADIUM (V) USING SALICYLALDEHYDE ACETOACETIC ACID HYDRAZONE. APPLICATIONS
Journal Title: Analele Universitatii din Bucuresti. Chimie - Year 2010, Vol 19, Issue 2
Abstract
Simple, sensitive and accurate spectrophotometric method was proposed for the micro determination of vanadium (V) using salicylaldehyde acetoacetic acid hydrazone (SAAH) as a reagent. The method was based on the formation of 1:2 complex between the metal and SAAH. The optimum conditions for the determination were established. The Beer’s law was applicable in the range of 0.243-2.438 µg/ml. The method detection limit, limit of quantification, molar absorptivity, Sandell’s sensitivity and stability constant (β) were reported. The method is free from common interferences. The method was successfully applied for the determination of vanadium (V) in tap water samples, plant tissues and alloys.

INCIPIENT PHASE OF THE CATALYTIC IGNITION OF LEAN n-HEPTANE-AIR MIXTURE
The incipient phase of catalytic ignition of 1.20% n-heptane-air over the surface of a heated platinum wire has been investigated at atmospheric pressure. The experimental setup allowed for ignition in isothermal conditi...
DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF INDIRECT SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC METHODS FOR LAMOTRIGINE IN PURE AND THE TABLET DOSAGE FORMS
Three simple, sensitive, accurate and indirect visible spectrophotometric methods have been developed for the estimation of lamotrigine (LMT) in both pure and in pharmaceutical preparations. They are based on the oxidati...
CHARACTERIZATION BY DYNAMIC THERMAL METHODS OF SOME BIS-AZOPOLYETHERS WITH AN OCTAMETHYLENE SPACER
This paper presents the characterization by dynamic thermal methods of some bis-azopolyethers with an octamethylene spacer. For the thermal analysis we used a MOM-Budapest derivatograph which enables the simultaneous rec...
EFFECTS OF pH VALUE ON THE ELECTRODEPOSITION OF Cu4SnS4 THIN FILMS
Copper tin sulfide thin films were electrodeposited on the indium tin oxide substrates in a bath containing CuSO4, SnCl2 and Na2S2O3 solutions. Various pH values ranging from 1.1 to 1.5 were attempted in order to determi...
