Spiritual Values as the Basis of Moral and Ethical Competence of the Clergy (in the Context of the Competence Approach Implementation in Theological Education System)

Abstract
Structural and substantial transformations in the system of priests' training demand new and high-quality approaches, which would correspond to the basic provisions of Bologna Process and uniform European educational space, among which competence-based approach in spiritual education takes a special place are outlined. In the article the problem of key competences allocation of future priests is considered. The particular attention is paid to the definition of moral and ethical competence structure of future priest, the basis of which are the spiritual Christian values. The purpose of research is to consider the problem of determining the structure of the moral and ethical competence of the priest, the basis of which is the spiritual Christian values. The spiritual influence defines the image of the personality world and behaviour patterns in society. Christian spiritual values are the Slavic foundation (such as Ukrainian) mentality, and is largely determined by the individual's position in the self-concept determination, which is shown in the form of the attitude towards itself, other people, to the world around and being in it. One of the key competencies is a moral and ethical competence, which is expressed in a high moral development of priests’ identity, formation of moral and valuable consciousness. The basic structural moral consciousness and self-consciousness formation are moral and spiritual values, therefore the moral development of the priests’ identity is considered by accepting spiritual Christian values.
