Journal Title: Más Vita - Year 2024, Vol 6, Issue 3
Abstract
Practically speaking, oral cavity mucosal cancer is synonymous with squamous cell carcinoma; known predisposing factors vary according to the location of the tumor. They have been mainly linked to tobacco, HPV, alcohol, syphilis, oral sepsis, oral candidiasis and anemia. This type of tumor is characterized by having a rapid and aggressive clinical evolution with a high recurrence rate. Objective:To establish a histopathological diagnosis through incisional biopsy of a lesion in the left posterior inferior area in a male patient who attended the Salazar Cordero Dental Center. Materials and Methods:Data collection through interviews, in addition to using instruments such as clinical history, informed consent, radiological studies, clinical photographs, incisional biopsy and complementary examinations. Results:The histopathological result showed a stratified squamous epithelium on fibrous connective tissue, infiltrated by neoplastic epithelial cells, resulting in a well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. Conclusion:Performing an incisional biopsy will guarantee the approach and treatment of this type of lesion. In addition, exhaustive examinations should be performed on patients in private dental centers
