STABILIZATION OF ANTERIOR INSTABILITIES BY POSTERIOR INSTRUMENTATION
Journal Title: Journal of Turkish Spinal Surgery - Year 1992, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
Spinal lesions like fractures, neoplasiae and infections decrease the mechanical resistance of the individual vertebrae and are likely to produce kyphosis, scoliosis or a combination of both vvhich may produce pain, disability and neurological compromise. Betvveen the years of 1988-1993, 43 patients (17 F, 26 M) were admitted to the Marmara University School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology with the diagnosis of anterior instability. Posterior fixation with mainly transpedicular screvvs ad combined hooks were performed in every case. A total of 234 screws and 71 hooks were appiied. At the last control, the following resuits were obtained. 26 patients (60,5 %) were rated to have excellent resuits, 14 patients (32 %) good, 3 patients (7 %) fair resuits. There were no bad resuits.

CORRECTION OF THE RIB-HUMP and HRSF APPLICATION AT THE SAME STAGE IN THORACAL SCOLIOSIS
In thoracal and thoracolumbar scoliosis, the first aim was always the correction of the lateral curve and thus the rib prominence remained uncorrected usually. The use of costectomie before or after Harrington Instrument...
THE POSTERIOR CERVİCAL LATERAL MASS PLATİNG TECHNIOUE
Ten cases who underwent posterior cervical lateral mass plating were evaluaied. There were 7 males and 3 females with an average age of 37 years (range 16-55 years). Diagnoses were traumatic cen/İcal instabilities İn 6,...

AN EVALUATION OF EFFECTIVENESS OF ACUPUNCTURE THERAPY APPLIED TO DISTANT POINTS IN LUMBAR DISC HERNIA
Objective: We hypothesized that determining the acupuncture therapy protocol based on the level and lateralization of lumbar disc herniation would be a more correct approach. We therefore planned to enroll patients wi...
