Orlova V.M., Vlasenko T.U. Formation and development of entrepreneurship in Ukraine. Subject of study. The article describes the essence of entrepreneurial activity in the process of formation and development of entrepreneurship in the transition economy of Ukraine. The signs of entrepreneurial activity, its functions and directions are investigated. Purpose of the study. Identify the main advantages and disadvantages of business development trends in the transition to a market economy. According to the goal, the following tasks were set: - analyze the situation in the field of entrepreneurship in Ukraine; - to identify the main problems of the ways of further development and growth of small business in Ukraine; - to highlight the main factors that stimulate the process of formation and development of entrepreneurship; - to investigate the theoretical essence of entrepreneurial activity. Methods of research. During the study methods of theoretical and methodological, idealization, logical generalization, critical analysis of scientific literature, practical experience were used. Results of the work. Entrepreneurship is a strategic factor and an internal source of sustainable economic development and material maintenance of the welfare of the population of the country in market economy conditions. In modern economic theory there is no unambiguous interpretation of the essence of entrepreneurship. Proper understanding of the true nature of entrepreneurship is equally important for both economic science and business practice. Entrepreneurship exists in almost all spheres of the economy, with the exception of those whose loss of state control threatens the security of the state or the health of people. It was established that entrepreneurial activity is not only a kind of economic activity, aimed at satisfying the needs of the individual in providing specific types of products, works and services, but also the main lever, which translates society into the highest degree of its development. Scope of application of the results. The obtained results can be used in the development and implementation of strategic control programs for entrepreneurial activity for the necessity of its state regulation.
