STATE OF FATTY ACID METABOLISM AMONG PATIENTS WITH CORONARY HEART DISEASE AND CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE

Abstract

A metabolic fatty acids in biological membranes of erythrocytes and plasma are observed among patients with COPD and CHD. Both common and distinctive features of dyslipidemia were identified in a survey of both clinical groups. The common feature is the presence of high activity of the metabolic conversion of linoleic fatty acid in the plasma. Besides, the most active process of transformation of arachidonic acid metabolites in its final metabolites was observed under the CHD in plasma and under the COPD in membranes of erythrocytes. In general, the reduction of saturation degree of the lipid complex of biomembranes at the level of cardiomyocytes may be one of the reasons of electrical instability of myocardium of patients with both COPD and CHD.
