Statistical Analysis on Achaemenid Ceramics in the Teppe Daroughe Khouzestan, Iran

Abstract
Excavation in Tappe Daroughe Khouzestan led to recognition of Achaemenid period in this hill. The most important findings in this hill include a high number of pot shreds, all of which have been investigated with respect to two approaches of technical and morphological classification. In order to provide a more evident analysis on this classification, some theoretical discussions have been employed and a relation has been made between the two previously mentioned approaches. Results achieved in the present study to some extent depict an Achaemenid rural society which had had enough knowledge about pottery and pottery industry, one that had been considered as one of its special occupations and also it is characterized by change and transformation as its indicators.
