STATOR WINDING INTER-TURN SHORT-CIRCUIT MODELLING OF A SQUIRREL-CAGE INDUCTION MOTOR
Journal Title: Power Electronics and Drives - Year 2016, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
Background: A mathematical model of a squirrel-cage induction motor with inter-turn short-circuits in stator phases is presented in this paper. Material and methods: In the proposed mathematical model an extent and angular localization of short-circuit faults are determined using a simple form of short-circuit coefficient matrices. Presented mathematical model does not require any additional motor parameters than those that are required for conventional model of healthy induction motor. Results: The comparative results get through computer simulations and obtained from a laboratory test-stand with 2.2 kW squirrel-cage induction motor are contained in the article. Conclusions: The obtained results validate the proposed extended mathematical model of a squirrel-cage induction motor with inter-turn short-circuit of stator windings.

Rotor fault compensation and detection in the sensorless induction motor drive
Background The sensorless induction motor drive systems require the rotor speed estimation. When the rotor of induction motor is broken the rotor resistance value is different than the nominal value. Because, all of the...
Finite set model predictive speed control of induction motor with long horizon
Background: The paper presents predictive speed control of induction motor. Material and methods: The structure with finite control set and long prediction horizon was used. The control process is divided into two parts:...
SIMULATION ANALYSIS OF EXTENDED KALMAN FILTER APPLIED FOR ESTIMATING POSITION AND SPEED OF A BRUSHLESS DC MOTOR
The purpose of the paper is to present a method for estimation of the BLDC motor rotor speed and position. The BLDC motor state equations were developed and the model was discretized. EKF has been designed to observe spe...
MODIFIED SCHEME OF PREDICTIVE TORQUE CONTROL FOR THREE-PHASE FOUR-SWITCH INVERTER-FED MOTOR DRIVE WITH ADAPTIVE DC-LINK VOLTAGE IMBALANCE SUPPRESSION
These instructions The classical voltage space vector modulation techniques cannot be efficiently applied in four-switch three-phase voltage inverter-fed electrical drives due to a voltage offset in DC-link capacitors. T...
INVESTIGATION OF HIGH SPEED INDUCTION MOTOR DRIVE OPERATING IN HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES
Background: The paper presents conclusions which are results of research on the use of high-speed drives operating in household appliances. The solutions that use three-phase or two-phase induction motors were taken into...
