Status and principles of classification of binomial in the modern Russian language

Abstract

The subject of consideration in the article are the modern nominative units formed according to the “nounnoun” model, which are usually called binomials. Binomials not yet well-established nomination is a dynamic phenomenon. Therefore, modern Russian studies lack a common opinion of linguists on their status. The unusually high productivity of this derivational model in modern Russian is opposed by a very inconsistent, partly contradictory and not exact lexicographic description. All this determines the relevance of this study.
