Status of Θ13
Journal Title: Journal of Nuclear Physics, Material Sciences, Radiation and Applications - Year 2015, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
The Neutrino mixing angle θ13 is at the focus of current neutrino research. Till 2010 the value of θ13 was assumed to be zero. Thanks to a number of consistent experimental efforts now we have a definitive value of θ13. Its measured value is sin22θ13 ≈ 0.1. This has promising implications for the determination of the two remaining unknown parameters, sign of the ∆m231 and CP violating phase δCP from the present and proposed accelerator neutrino experiments in the foreseeable future.

Theoretical Study of Interplay Between Superconductivity and Itinerant Ferromagnetism
Following Green’s function technique and equation of motion method, the coexistence of superconductivity (SC) and itinerant ferromagnetism (FM) is investigated in a single band homogenous system. Self-consistent equation...
Agent-based Model of Oxidation Reactions of Ferrous Ions
Molecules in comets are formed through chemical oxidation reactions induced by radiation. Thesereactions can be simulated in laboratory experiments applying gamma radiation to samples at low temperatures. The kinetics of...
Investigation of the Saturation of Elemental Concentration in the Depth Profile of Low Energy Silver Ion Implants in Silicon
For the efficient absorption of light in a broad wavelength band, Si photovoltaic devices require a high concentration of metal atoms at a shallow depth up to a few 10s of nm in the Si substrates. Low energy (< 50 keV) i...
Quantum Effects on the Linear Dispersion Characteristics in Electron-Positron Plasma
In electron-positron plasmas some of the plasma modes are decoupled due to the equal charge to mass ratio of both species. The dispersion properties of the propagation of linear waves in degenerate electron–positron magn...
Nuclei Near and Far From β-Stability Line
Proton to neutron ratio around β-stability line presents an open challenge to the nuclear physicists. The prominent milestone in this regard isthe discovery of the superheavy elements, nuclear halos in the lightest neutr...
