Status, problems and improvement of the pension system in Ukraine

Abstract
In the transition to a market economy Ukraine acute problem of the welfare of citizens, one of the areas which is to improve pensions. Pension system, which is now functioning in our country is far from perfect, and the problem of pension reform is one of the most acute in Ukraine. Reforming the pension system in Ukraine started in 2003 with the adoption of the Law «On Compulsory State Pension Insurance» and «On private pension provision». According to the legislation provides for pension benefits on three levels: state PAYG, the funded system of compulsory state pension insurance system and voluntary private pensions.
