Stefan Włoch (1926-2012) distinguished professor and a trusted friend

Abstract
In our life, also when we are adults, there is a need for point of reference, a role model we search for – not always being aware of this fact – among people with more experience in private and professional life. In this frenzied and materialized to the core world of fallen ideas and total dangers, where nothing is certain, we look for a person who is simply good. We seek an authority with virtues of the mind and the heart we would like to instil in ourselves. In this understanding, already at the beginning of my academic career, I was lucky to meet – at that time already a professor – Stefan Włoch with whom I was given the opportunity to become sincere, long-term friends.
