Halitoza – przegląd piśmiennictwa

Abstract
Wprowadzenie: halitoza (przykry zapach z jamy ustnej) stanowi problem 15-60% społeczeństwa. Jest trzecim co do częstości powodem wizyt u lekarza dentysty. Cel pracy: na podstawie piśmiennictwa opisano przyczyny, metody rozpoznawania i leczenia przykrego zapachu z jamy ustnej.Podsumowanie: przykry zapach z jamy ustnej (halitoza) jest spowodowany głównie przez bakterie zasiedlające jamę ustną, produkujące lotne związki chemiczne, w tym związki siarki. Powstają one w wyniku przemian metabolicznych i dotyczą głównie rozkładu białek i aminokwasów. Najczęściej stosowaną metodą rozpoznania jest badanie organoleptyczne. Leczenie halitozy jest zazwyczaj skojarzone.
