Strategic management analysis of Hajiabad Municipality using SWOT model

Abstract
Nowadays, having prospective power, identifying an environment and planning for effective future success requires strategic management thinking. Strategic management thinking in urban areas invites them to compete in the environment in order to cope with the current political, economic and social fluctuations. For this purpose, the present paper uses the strategic thinking and strategic techniques of Swat model to investigate the weaknesses, strengths, opportunities and management threats of Hajiabad city in Zarin Dashte city, south of Fars province. The research method is descriptive and analytical. Data gathering was done using a group and individual interviewing tool. So, for the interview, we selected the sample using the Morgan table of 63 employees of the municipality and city council. The results of this research indicate that managerial and structural weaknesses and the lack of suitable methods for selecting specialists and lack of proper use of human resources have created problems that can be achieved using strategic management strategies and weaknesses to identify strengths and weaknesses. The threats turned into decent opportunities and took steps to change the situation. It is recommended to develop and implement an appropriate management strategy for solving everyday urban problems and maintaining the stability of the urban system as a strategic strategy.
