Selection of cutting speed, feed speed and optimal cutting depth in milling operation using genetic algorithm technique

Journal Title: Journal of Science and today’s world - Year 2013, Vol 2, Issue 11

Abstract

In this study, optimal milling parameters such as cutting speed, feed rate and cutting depth are calculated using genetic algorithm technique. For milling parameters, an objective function that is a combination of two criteria, minimum production cost and minimum production time is made. Weight factor for each of the objectives is given by the user. In this research, the technical constraints such as dimensional accuracy, surface finish and machine powers are used.
